Check Out the Yankees, Mets & Knicks
When exploring New York City, make your way to Madison Square Garden during the fall for exciting NBA action. Home of the New York Knicks, MSG, or simply known as The Garden, is one of the most recognized and popular multi-use sports venues in the U.S. Knicks fans travel in from Long Island, and Flushing for all the exciting action during the fall, over winter, and into the spring.
Baseball fans celebrate two of the most storied and legendary franchises in Major League Baseball – the Yankees and the Mets. Catch a Yankees game at new Yankee Stadium, or visit Citi Field in Flushing for a Mets game.
Fans of the National Football League are in luck, as New York is home to the Buffalo Bills. Although both the Jets and Giants are labeled as being from New York, they play all home games in MetLife Stadium, situated in New Jersey, and are both headquartered in NJ. But, when visiting northwestern NY, head to Ralph Wilson Stadium and watch the Bills take on their AFC East opponents during the fall.
New York is home to three hockey teams, creating even more excitement for die-hard sports fans. The Rangers play in downtown Manhattan at MSG, the Islanders are housed in the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, set in Uniondale near Rockville Centre. And further north, you'll enjoy all the slap shots and glove saves of Buffalo Sabres hockey – check them out at the First Niagara Center.
Baseball fans seeking a more subdued, and ultimately less expensive, experience often opt for minor league baseball. Most states have one, if not more, teams and New York is no exception. Be sure to visit Falcon Park II, home of the Auburn Doubledays. Brooklyn is home to the Cyclones at MCU Park on Coney Island.
