Discover the Theater District
Get Ready for the Lights of Broadway!
Broadway Theatre District
From 40th Street to 54th Street, stretching from west of Sixth Avenue to just east of Eighth Avenue, you'll find the lights of the Broadway Theater District.
Home to 40 of the largest theaters, each housing 500 seats or more, Broadway has been host to some of the most famous stage productions in the world.
During the day, a stroll down the “Great White Way” may not seem so special. But once inside you’ll find walls of gold, dramatic décor, Victorian renderings, art deco style, and in some instances, just downright glitz galore.
Catching a play while visiting New York City is an absolute must. Whether you’re attending an on or off-Broadway show, just being in the Theater District is a magical experience.
Looking for a visitor's tip? Stop by the TKTS booths for discounted tickets. It’s a gamble but you may even be able to purchase a few same-day tickets (and in certain cases next-day matinee tickets). The TKTS booths are located in Duffy Square, Times Square, Lower Manhattan, and Brooklyn.
Make your stay in New York extra special with the Theater District, where many a dream has come true!
