Visiting the New York City Metropolitan Area
New York, the City That Never Sleeps – not even in the winter. This season, the Big Apple's as bustling as ever, and visitors will find all its iconic attractions, world-class shopping and dining, first-rate entertainment, and cultural destinations are as accessible as ever.
Special events, holiday celebrations, festivals, pro sports, and even family-friendly activities – there's never a shortage of things to see and do in New York, and this season is no different.
It's an exciting time to be a sports fan in New York City. The NBA's New York Knicks, and the NHL's New York Rangers bring several nights of action to Madison Square Garden every week, the Brooklyn Nets host NBA games of their own at Barclays Center, and to the west, across the Hudson River, the New York Jets and the New York Giants bring NFL excitement to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey – just a short train ride away.
In Brooklyn, NY visitors are invited to get some holiday shopping done during the Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar November 26th and 27th. The bazaar will feature all kinds of locally crafted artisans products, food, and crafts. There will be tons of activities for kids as well. Even better, the event is free.
For a bit more fun and games in NYC this winter, check out the 2016 Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl on December 3rd. The USPC will traverse the East Village top rated bars and pubs where a slew of drink specials and some horrific sweaters await.
For even more holiday cheer, check out the 2016 Make Music Winter music and holiday festival on December 21st. The festival will feature dozens of parades and live musical performances all in the streets of metro NYC.
