Spanning 181 acres, the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site is located in Hyde Park – one mile away from the Home Of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site. The site is set just north of Poughkeepsie in New York's Catskills region.
Also known as Val-Kill, the home was taken over by the National Park Service in 1977 – making it the only NPS site commemorating a First Lady. The Eleanor Roosevelt home features a number of interactive tours, and walking paths throughout the scenic grounds – plus a bookstore and visitor center.
Employing over 13,000 people, GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a semiconductor foundry with a location in Hopewell Junction – south of Poughkeepsie in central New York. The plant manufactures integrated circuits for companies like Qualcomm and STMicroelectronics.
Visitors are periocally invited to tour massive facilities like the Luther Forest Technology Campus to get a glimpse the plant’s operations, not to mention the extensive set of tools and technology found within.
Covering 800 acres, the Home Of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site is located in Hyde Park – one mile away from the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site. The site is set just north of Poughkeepsie in New York's Catskills region.
Listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the site began operating under the National Park Service in 1945 – drawing over 100,000 annual visitors. Also known as Springwood, the site features the First Couple’s bedroom and gravesite, and FDR’s childhood bedroom. Springwood also features home and grounds tours, a visitor center, and bookstore.
Established in 1929, Marist College is a private liberal arts institution located in the Hudson Valley city of Poughkeepsie. Marist’s main campus is found on the east bank of the Hudson River – a 180-acre suburban campus featuring several sites named to the National Register of Historic Places.
Athletics are Marist College are represented by the Marist Red Foxes – comprised of 23 Division I teams playing in both the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Pioneer Football League. Games are held at Tenney Stadium, McCann Arena, and other venues.
Established in 1960, Mount Saint Mary College is a private, liberal arts college found in Newburgh – only a short drive from New York City. The 70-acre Suburban campus – located on the shores of the Hudson River – enrolls roughly 2,700 students participating in a diverse range of graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

Established in 1828, State University of New York at New Paltz is a public university and a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) syste. The school, commonly known as SUNY New Paltz, is located in the village of New Paltz – a short drive from the New York metro area and across the river form Poughkeepsie.
As members of the NCAA Division III, SUNY New Paltz features a diverse range of teams, competing in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference. A U.S. Historic district, the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site is a 211-acre site managed by the National Park Service.
Found on the east bank of the Hudson River, the Vanderbilt Mansion is located in Hyde Park within New York's Catskills.
Representing the living style of the Gilded Age, the 54-room Vanderbilt Mansion was purchased in 1895 by Frederick William Vanderbilt.
Today this National Park site offers cell phone tours of the mansion, plus the Hyde Park Healthy Trails, the Riverfront Podcast Trail Tour, and tours of the formal gardens.
Early Vassar College
Established in 1861, Vassar College is a private liberal arts college offering BA degrees in more than 50 majors.
