Barclays Center

The most populous of all five New York City boroughs is Brooklyn. Famous for the Brooklyn Bridge, one of America's oldest suspension bridges, this borough is home to the Barclays Center. Construction for this sports arena began in 2010, over the Long Island Rail Road train yard in the Atlantic Yards. The expected completion of the arena is the fall of 2012, in time for the 2012-2013 season of the National Basketball Association's Brooklyn Nets. Once the Nets leave Newark, New Jersey to play in Brooklyn, they'll become the first major league sports team in Brooklyn since 1957, when the Dodgers left for Los Angeles.

September 2012 is the projected opening date for this $4.9 billion business, residential and sports area complex. This incredible sports arena will also be the home to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and Disney on Ice. Bayclays will host many concerts, Atlantic 10 Conference games and World Wrestling Entertainment events. Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will be performing at the Barclays Center in December, for his only 2012 New York area performance. Brooklyn Museum
