1. Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum & center for Comedy

As one of Jamestown's premier attractions, the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum & Center for Comedy is a must-visit. Whether you grew up with Lucy and Desi providing the laughs, or are simply interested in the history of the famous duo, be sure to check it out during your next visit to western NY. The Lucy Desi Center for Comedy hosts the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival held in August.

2. The Brain Museum

Plan your next stay in Buffalo and be sure to check out the Brain Museum. You can find this museum on the campus of the University at Buffalo, within the Biomedical Education Building. On display, you'll see more than 80 brain specimens

3. Cardiff Giant

See what led to one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetuated onto the American people. Make your way to Cooperstown in the central region of NY and see the famous Cardiff Giant. Standing 10 feet if he's a foot, this man-like sculpture is made from solid gypsum, and was the brainchild of George Hull. See it for yourself today at the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown.

4. Magic Forest

When traveling through the Adirondacks with the whole family, few attractions will be as fun as the Magic Forest. Head for Lake George and visit this impressive amusement park. You'll find all the kid-friendly favorites like a carousel, petting zoo, and even the famous diving horse named Lightning.

The Family Will Love the Trolley Museum of New York

In Brooklyn, don't miss one of the most iconic – if not infamous – destinations: Coney Island. Know for its beaches, carnival-style rides, and a wide range of food vendors, Coney Island is home to The Cyclone roller coaster and the Wonder Wheel, an impressive ferris wheel. 

6. International Boxing Hall of Fame

The Trolley Museum of New York is located in Kingston, and is the ideal stop for any trip into the Catskills region of NY.

8. Santa's Workshop

Celebrate Christmas all year long in New York. Head for the Upstate NY region and visit Santa's Workshop. Found in "North Pole," this yuletide attraction is a short drive from nearby Lake Placid, and has been thrilling families since 1949. Bring the whole gang and visit the Reindeer Barn, the Candy Shop, and don't miss the World of Christmas.

9. Ausable Chasm

Known as the Grand Canyon of the East, the Ausable Chasm is a must-see sandstone gorge – the Ausable River flows through it. Found along Interstate 87, the Ausable Chasm is a short drive from nearby Plattsburgh. During your visit, be sure to North Star Underground Railroad Museum & Heritage Center.
