Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site
Spanning 181 acres, the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site is located in Hyde Park – one mile away from the Home Of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site. The site is set just north of Poughkeepsie in New York's Catskills region.
Also known as Val-Kill, the home was taken over by the National Park Service in 1977 – making it the only NPS site commemorating a First Lady. The Eleanor Roosevelt home features a number of interactive tours, and walking paths throughout the scenic grounds – plus a bookstore and visitor center.
